Hebron United Presbyterian Church
Advent and Christmas 2022
Throughout Advent- Lifesize Advent Wreath at Hebron United
“The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness did not overcome it.” John 1:5
As we light our Advent candles in church and at home, five evergreens on the church lawn will also be lit in purple, pink, and white lights reminding all who pass by of the Hope, Peace, Joy, and Love that guides our lives and fills our hearts
as we await the coming of our Lord, Jesus!
Sunday November 27th – 10:30am First Sunday of Advent- Hope
Sunday December 4th – 10:30am Worship Second Sunday of Advent- Peace
Communion Sunday by intinction.
Monday December 5th – 7:00pm Blue Christmas Service (in-person and via Zoom)
Especially this year, “merry and bright” may seem particularly elusive! Whether mourning a loss, worried about finances, facing health issues, missing family, or just plain stressed, we find our strength in the truth that there is a Light in our darkness! We will gather together either in-person or via Zoom, for a time of quiet reflection, prayer, and music; gifts of the season, wrapped in the healing love of the One who came down to be hope for the world.
Sunday December 11th – 10:30am Worship Third Sunday of Advent- Joy
Sunday December 18th – 10:30am Worship Fourth Sunday of Advent- Love
O come let us adore him!
On that holy night, so long, angels told unsuspecting shepherds,
“Do not be afraid! I bring you good news that will cause great joy for all the people.
Today a Savior has been born to you!
You will find him wrapped in cloths and lying in a manger!”
The sanctuary will be in full Christmas dress—tree, lights, greens, poinsettias, candles, and Christmas carols playing. Soak in the wonder for a few moments before beginning your journey home.
