Good Friday March 29, 2013
Welcome. Come in. Find rest for your soul and strength for the journey to the cross with our Lord Jesus.
My peace I gave, which the world cannot give, and washed your feet as a sign of my love, but you draw the sword to strike in my name and seek high places in my kingdom. I offered you my body and blood, but you scatter and deny and abandon me,
and you have prepared a cross for your Savior.
Holy God,
Holy and mighty,
Holy immortal One,
have mercy upon us.*
Today’s readings:
Isaiah 52:13-53:12 Psalm 22
Hebrews 10:16-25 or Hebrews 4:14-16, 5:7-9 John 18:1-19:42
Read one or more passages, taking time to reflect on a word or phrase that stands out for you. Listen to what the Lord is saying to you through this time of reflection and prayer. Be still, rest in the comfort of the quiet. If silence us uncomfortable for you, be patient and slowly increase the length of quiet each day. Feel free to walk around the sanctuary during your quiet time. Or kneel on the steps in front of the cross. Maybe God seems silent, but let your heart be comforted, God is near, His steadfast love endures forever.
My reflections and personal prayers:
May God bless you day as you bring the blessings of God to others.

Maundy Thursday March 28, 2013
Welcome. Come in. Find rest for your soul and strength for the journey to the cross with our Lord Jesus.
“The Lord Jesus on the night when he was betrayed…”
Tonight, though the one who would betray Him first sat among them, Jesus gave us the gift of the Lord’s Supper.
Although He knew we would all fall away and fall asleep, He gave us the commandment to love as He loved /loves us.
Are we worthy? No, but what good news it is that “access to the Table is not a right conferred upon the worthy, but a privilege given to the undeserving who come in faith, repentance, and love.”* What a gift to be invited to the Lord’s Table. In gratitude and love, can we stay awake, to wait and watch with Jesus?
Today’s readings:
Exodus 12:1-14 Psalm 116:1-2, 12-19
1Corinthians 11:23-26 John 13:1-17, 31-35

“Now my heart is troubled and what shall I say? ‘Father save me from this hour’? No, it was for this very reason that I came to this hour. Father glorify Your name!”
Is your heart troubled today? We have not been promised life without trouble, but we have a compassionate savior who goes with us through it all. Jesus is for you and with you.
